For over a decade, we’ve earned our reputation as a cornerstone of the local equestrian scene through quality instruction, thoughtful horsemanship, and a welcoming environment for riders of all ages and abilities.
Jessica Owen Smith brings more than 46 years of horseback riding experience and over 15 years of teaching children and adults how to ride, groom, and care for horses. She believes every rider should build a strong foundation through patience, safety, proper horsemanship, and a trusting partnership with their horse.
Jessica has competed through three levels of equestrian competition and has more than 30 years of barn management experience, overseeing horse care, training, and daily stable operations. Her hands-on knowledge allows her to provide safe, personalized instruction for riders of all ages and skill levels.
Whether you’re taking your first riding lesson or looking to build your confidence in the saddle, Jessica is dedicated to helping every student develop lifelong riding skills and a genuine love of horses in a supportive, family-friendly environment.

The Greenwich Riding and Trails Association, a chartered nonprofit organization, hosts several annual fundraising events to advance its mission of preserving open space, protecting historic trails, and promoting the equestrian tradition throughout the community. The organization maintains the Nichols Nature Preserve, a 94-acre property featuring meadows, forests, ponds, and wetlands.
Throughout the year, GRTA offers an array of engaging events including an Annual Dinner, educational programs, Trail Clean-up & Picnic, Barn Tour, two horse shows, a Hunter Pace, and the spectacular Silver Horse Ball at the Round Hill Club. Jessica and Memory Lane Farm actively support and participate in many of these events.
